OPS Forestry in conjunction with our Suriname forest and sawmill partner would like to present the opportunity to secure supply of Basralocus (Angelique) logs, timber, or finished product.

Angelique, Dicorynia guianensis, is a beautiful hardwood that only occurs in French Guiana and Suriname. Trees can be as tall as 140 feet and have diameters up to 32 inches. The wood has rich brownish rust or purple brown colors with a reddish glow. It is stable when drying with very little degrade possible.

SUPPLY OPPORTUNITIY DETAILS

Logs – 40cm through to 80cm + diameter. We can produce sawn timber milled to your specifications, as well as finished product including decking and posts.

COMMON USES

Decking and flooring, furniture & joinery, marine construction, heavy construction.

APPEARANCE

The heartwood of Basralocus is golden, rust or purple brown, usually with a brown red glow.
